about

9. Cadillac – This is the ride out. It was the last song I recorded for this album. My friends always tell me this one brings a tear to their eye. Lol. Who knows? The premise of the song was a culmination of all the girls I’ve dated in my life, and if we actually made it work instead of breaking up. What if we didn’t break up? So it’s a fantasy of if I married super woman. Since I didn’t, by the end of the song, I erase everything in typical Jason fashion, and let Pat play it out. I based the ages off of the number 9 because I had a student who was having trouble with their 9 timetables. I like to do things for people that they’ll never know. This song was for a select few women who will never know how I truly feel. The 9 timetables were for a lesson that some kid will never hear. But it was fun.

lyrics

Cadillac

Planet, planet on the other side
See it grounded on the other side
Underground she was to blossom, she’s my number 9
18, I met her and I knew that she would shine
Something about her, but in no one else I’d ever fine
27, looking back and I am betting my
Wonder lady, going, growing regretting time
A mew illusion, we’re living off in a better time
Our dialogue when we meet, it’s so ahead of time
36, so we had us a kid
Been through all of our shit, built a house made of brick
Never no other chick, said that this is for life
Never no second guess, lady you are my wife
Moving to 45, middle age in disguise
Problems they may occur, but baby we did it right
We did it right

Yup, if I got to go, can’t see you anymore
Just take a journey we, could see what we’ll never be
I cannot promise love, but I’m a compromise
Maybe a little life, just made for you and I

54 coming soon, many chapters and many moons
Many secrets in many rooms,
miscarriage that almost brought our doom
But now we’re living on the other side
63 I watched you come alive
Thinking about the graduation
And all of our trials and tribulations
Now we’re living off retirement
World news and all the violence
72 , we made it here
You’re still the same girl from yester-year
But then you wound down at 81
And now I can’t see the rising sun
So I’m a do you this one for free
I’ll divide your 81 by 3
And although you won’t remember me
Our love will represent infinite

Yup, if we got to go, can’t see you anymore
Just take a journey we, could see what we’ll never be
I cannot promise love, but I’m a compromise
Maybe a little life, just made for you and I

How do you unknow us
Two lives and I know us
Take one chance like so what
Don’t break down, don’t break us
